After attending St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, Kim A. Otis graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Seton Hall Law School. He grew up in Princeton and has practiced in town for 35 years. Before that he spent five years in Trenton at the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. Mr. Otis is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Criminal Trial Attorney. He served as Municipal Prosecutor in Montgomery Township from 2002-2010, as Municipal Prosecutor in both Princeton Borough and Princeton Township from 2005-2008 and as Municipal Prosecutor in Pennington Borough from 1988-1999. Mr. Otis was formerly Chief of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit. He also served in the Appellate Section of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office and as Law Clerk to the Honorable Paul G. Levy, Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey. He has vast experience in the defense of DWI/DUI cases and in major criminal cases, including defense of drug cases, sexual assault, money laundering and other major crimes, including federal cases in the District Court of New Jersey. He has represented hundreds of people charged with disorderly persons and traffic charges in local Municipal Courts all over the State of New Jersey. He has filed hundreds of expungements for people looking to clear any mention of prior criminal charges from their records. Mr. Otis is also an experienced and accomplished general practice attorney. He holds an advanced degree in Estate Planning from Temple University Law School. He has handled numerous estate administrations for families after the death of a family member. He has worked with families to plan for the passing of their wealth and property to the next generation. He has handled real estate purchases, sales and refinances throughout central New Jersey for over 35 years. Mr. Otis is known in the Princeton area for handling sensitive legal issues for prominent individuals. He knows the Princeton Community and how the various enforcement entities work from years of experience and from developing relationships.
