For more than 30 years Ken Chackes has been representing individuals whose legal rights have been violated. Kenβs current practice is focused on sexual abuse law, employment law, and disability rights. SEXUAL ABUSE β Ken has represented over 100 individuals who have been sexually abused, mostly as children, by priests, other clergy, or family members. EMPLOYMENT β He represents employees in a wide variety of workplace disputes involving discrimination and whistleblower protection. DISABILITY RIGHTS LAW β Ken also represents people with disabilities seeking equal access to education and other services. MEDIATION β He also serves as a mediator in special education disputes and all types of civil litigation. Ken graduated from St. Louis University School of Law in 1976. In addition to his private law practice he served as a full-time Assistant Professor at Washington University School of Law from 1984-88, teaching litigation and negotiation skills, and from 1988-92 he was a Staff Attorney and Managing Attorney for Missouri Protection and Advocacy Services, a state-wide disability rights organization.
