About
I am an attorney licensed to practice law in both Oregon state courts as well as the Federal Bankruptcy/District Court in Portland. I am a proud member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the Nationalk Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. I am the 2014 Chair of the Oregon State Bar Consumer Law Section. I received my undergraduate degree from Marylhurst University located just outside of Portland. I obtained my Juris Doctorate from Willamette College of Law in Salem in 2007 and moved back to Portland to practice law. I am originally from Michigan, but I have lived in Oregon for about 12 years, and I will never move back to the Midwest (sorry Michiganders!). Since law school, I have been practicing as a solo attorney, or as a part of a small firm, and have learned the practice of law from the “ground up.” I have focused my practice on bankruptcy and consumer law largely because I feel that it is an under-served area of the law. I get to help out the everyday person or a family who needs a fresh economic start, or who have been unlawfully taken advantage of. Far too often, merchants, creditors, and debt collection companies cross the line and engage in abusive practices that violate state or federal laws. When this happens, I zealously seek the justice that my clients’ deserve, defending their rights against the heavy hand and significant resources of the debt collection companies and the big law firms that represent them. Like most Oregonians, I enjoy outdoor activities like camping and hiking. I also love sports (Go Blazers!), traveling, movies, gardening, and good food. I am firmly rooted in the Portland community. I believe that Oregon, and Portland specifically, stands at the gateway to the “New West,” and I am grateful that I can be a part of the exciting changes and unique challenges that will continue to come our way.
