About
Katie Weaver Hartzog joined the Raleigh office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP in 2004 after earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduating cum laude from Campbell University School of Law. During the first several years of her career with the firm, Katie gained broad civil litigation defense experience successfully representing businesses and individuals in a wide range of matters that included employment disputes, municipal liability, premises liability, property and contractual disputes, and in homeowners’ association matters. Today, Katie focuses her practice primarily on defending businesses, municipalities, and police departments in employment disputes. Katie has developed an aggressive motions practice in which she has frequently been successful in obtaining a dismissal or summary judgment.
