Juliana B. Carter is an associate in the Litigation Department. Juliana has trial experience with a range of civil and criminal disputes. She has also defended clients in tort litigation and arbitration proceedings. Juliana assists corporate and individual clients with white collar criminal defense. Her white collar practice includes providing advice regarding Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) litigation and compliance, including matters involving suspicious activity reporting, alleged BSA violations by financial institutions, and the crafting of AML and anti-bribery compliance plans. During her judicial clerkship, she handled several white-collar criminal cases, including a high-profile public corruption trial. She is a frequent contributor to Money Laundering Watch, Ballard Spahr's blog focused exclusively on money laundering issues. Juliana completed internships in the offices of the Philadelphia District Attorney, the Education Law Center of Pennsylvania, and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).
