Cryne is a partner at Carlson & Blakeman LLP and focuses her legal practice on immigration. Julia has extensive experience working in Immigration law, including family based petitions, employment petitions, obtaining residency and citizenship, non-immigrant visas, work permits, appeals and international adoption. Julia previously worked at a University, and assisted international students with their visas and immigration needs, and at another private firm specializing in all types of immigration practice. Julia has had some especially proud success stories, including obtaining immediate citizenship for a US Navy veteran from Mexico, obtaining asylum for a family from Pakistan, and obtaining a National Interest Waiver in an employment petition for a top genetic scientist from Bangladesh. Julia is passionate about immigration law and serving the immigrant community. Julia is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (“AILA”), and participates in immigration-specific continuing legal education routinely. She volunteers through AILA’s Military Assistance Program to serve military members, veterans and their families with immigration law cases. Julia regularly speaks in community engagements at churches, schools, businesses and other volunteer groups on immigration rights and options. Julia is originally from Omaha, Nebraska, and holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Oklahoma. After law school, Julia participated in a Spanish language immersion program in Costa Rica. Julia is fluent in Spanish.
