About

Joey is a litigation partner at Claggett & Sykes Law Firm. Joey practices primarily in the areas of insurance bad faith and employment litigation representing insureds against insurance companies and employees against employers. As a fourth generation Nevadan, Joey has deep and extensive ties to the state, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a degree in accounting. He then studied law at the William S. Boyd School of Law where he was on the editorial board of the Nevada Law Journal. During his time at Boyd, Joey externed for the Honorable Bruce A. Markell, Federal Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Nevada. Since graduating from law school, Joey has worked as a plaintiff’s lawyer to protect the rights of individuals who are treated unfairly by insurers and employers. Joey has considerable experience litigating class action cases, including, most prominently, settlement of a class action against a national convenience store chain on behalf of store managers for $8.25M. Joey has lectured at several continuing legal education seminars and regularly mentors other lawyers regarding litigating insurance and employment disputes. When not working, Joey enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and two young daughters.
