Joseph L. Coleman embraces his firm’s philosophy, Refuse to Lose, through every stage of a criminal proceeding. He combines trial experience, creativity, and tenacity to fight with zealous advocacy for his clients in cases ranging from driving under the influence to homicide. Unlike many attorneys, Mr. Coleman has never been afraid of taking center stage in the courtroom to fight for his client’s rights. Originally from Southern California, Mr. Coleman honed his creativity by crafting stories as a filmmaker. However, his desire to defend the underdog and passion to fight for a purpose led him to Temple Law School’s top-ranked Trial Advocacy program. Mr. Coleman earned multiple awards including Outstanding Oral Advocate, Distinguished Class Performer, and, for his negotiating skills, the Integrated Transactional Program. Ultimately, Mr. Coleman attained his juris doctorate with honors as cum laude. Following law school, Mr. Coleman jumped right into the action at one of Philadelphia’s largest criminal defense firms, where he represented thousands of clients and litigated hundreds of motions and trials. His combination of of trial advocacy and cinematic flair earned him the name “Hollywood” for his stunning ability to sell the defense’s side of the story to both judge and jury. Mr. Coleman’s victories in the courtroom are too numerous to measure. He gives every client the respect they have earned, the attention that they deserve, and never backs down from a challenge.
