About

Joe Gottlieb joins Stout, Kaiser, Matteson, Peake, & Hendrick, LLC after more than thirty five years of experience practicing law. The depth of knowledge that he contributes to client matters completes the full range of legal services offered by the firm, and provides Joe the opportunity to expand his network of resources for those he serves. He is regarded by his peers as a team-oriented attorney who has an aptitude for finding cost-effective solutions to the legal problems his clients face. Joe’s career has focused on helping early stage franchisors achieve their expansion goals while avoiding common industry pitfalls. Clients often remark that he brings order to the chaos of the start up process, and bestows peace of mind for their franchise’s future. Joe frequently helps seasoned franchisors overcome inadvertent disclosure or registration violations, while offering a variety of tailored options to meet their specific needs. He is adept at growing fledgling companies into rooted businesses by ensuring the processes and systems he implements work as well long term as they do from the beginning. A native of New York, New York, Joe always had plans beyond the concrete and glass of the city. His early years shaped the approachable and responsive character with which he provides legal counsel and solidified his strong sense of ethics. After attending the State University of New York at Binghamton and graduating with honors in history, Joe received his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law, then eventually made his way to Atlanta where he has practiced ever since. Joe is dedicated to serving the public and the profession through a myriad of philanthropic endeavors. Once a managing attorney with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, he later served on the Board of Directors of the Furniture Bank of Atlanta where he assisted families, transitioning from homelessness, in securing fundamental resources. He is currently an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Solo and Small Firm Section, participating in charity work and volunteerism on a regular basis. Many of Joe’s clients have not previously sought legal advice for fear of prohibitively high fees, but after working with Joe they agree that he listens carefully, renders customized results, and ultimately saves them money.
