About
I have been certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 1994. I have been listed in the Best Lawyers edition of the Louisville magazine under both Personal Injury Defense and Mediation since 2006, which is the oldest and most respected peer rated publication in the legal profession. I have been listed by Kentucky Super Lawyers since 2007, and Best Lawyers in America since 1995. I am admitted to practice in the Eastern and Western Districts of U.S. District Court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. I have worked closely with the supervisors and claims professionals at the various Liberty Mutual Companies for several years. I have over 35 years’ experience and focus my practice in Insurance Defense, including Personal Injury, UM/UIM, Declaratory Judgment Actions, Product Liability, Property & Casualty, Slip and Fall, Wrongful Death, Insurance Coverage Disputes and Bad Faith. Additionally, I have done work as a mediator for the past 5 years. I have extensive experience in State and Federal trial practice and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Over the last three years, there have been several cases I have tried and in none of those cases has a verdict been returned in the plaintiff’s favor or in excess of the offer of settlement made by the company prior to trial. Recently, I tried a case where my client offered $200,000 before trial and the demand was for $450,000. The verdict at trial was $215,000, which both the carrier and I consider a win.
