About
John is a native of Walla Walla, Washington and went to The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington where he majored in philosophy. Before going to law school, he worked at DharmaLaw, a law firm in San Francisco specializing in asylum and refugee law. After brief stints in Olympia and then Mexico, John went to Willamette University College of Law where he served as Editor in Chief of the Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution, and as an associate editor on Willamette Law Review. He received Honors in Legal Research and Writing. Also, he served as a student assistant for Prof. Mazur-Hart, a research assistant to Prof. Tornquist and Hon. Hans Linde, and as the President of the Willamette Student Bar Association. During law school, John had a summer clerkship with Federal Magistrate Judge Patricia Sullivan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, and during the school year he was a judicial extern for Justice Martha Walters of the Oregon Supreme Court. John also studied abroad at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. After completing a summer semester there he worked as a research assistant at the South African Institute for Advanced Constitutional, Public, Human Rights & International Law under the direction of Prof. Theunis Roux. John enjoys reading, writing, studying Ancient Greek and Spanish, hiking, visiting museums, traveling, dining, and cooking. After working at Burgess Callahan LLC for two years where he was a founding partner, John joined the Law Office of Larry L. Linder, LLC.
