John David Burgess is a dedicated attorney based in Portland, Oregon, with a robust focus on Employment Law and Personal Injury. A native of Walla Walla, Washington, John attended The Evergreen State College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He then honed his legal acumen at Willamette University College of Law, graduating in 2010 with a Juris Doctor degree. While at Willamette, John distinguished himself as Editor in Chief of the Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution and received Honors in Legal Research and Writing. His legal education was further enriched by a summer clerkship with Federal Magistrate Judge Patricia Sullivan and a judicial externship with Justice Martha Walters of the Oregon Supreme Court. Prior to his legal career, John gained valuable experience working at DharmaLaw in San Francisco, where he focused on asylum and refugee law. He also expanded his global perspective by studying at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he contributed as a research assistant at the South African Institute for Advanced Constitutional, Public, Human Rights & International Law. As a former founding partner at Burgess Callahan LLC, John now brings his wealth of knowledge and passion for justice to the Law Office of Larry L. Linder, LLC. Outside of his practice, he enjoys hiking, exploring new cultures, and indulging in his love for cooking.
