Jinyan (Olivia) Wang, Esq. is an immigration attorney focusing on removal defense. She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in Canada and is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, New York and Ontario. As an immigrant from China, Attorney Wang has a deep understanding of the struggles of immigrant community and is dedicated to advocating for immigrant families and asylum seekers. Attorney Wang has an expertise in waivers of unlawful presence, waivers of inadmissibilities due to criminal convictions/fraud and misrepresentation, family-based petitions, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, VAWA self petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, response to Request for Evidence (RFE)/Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID), motions to reconsider/reopen and appeals of USCIS denials; asylum applications, withholding of removal, protection under the Convention against Torture; cancellation of removal for LPR and non-LPR, VAWA cancellation of removal, NACARA cancellaton of removal; motions to reopen removal order and appeals to Board of Immigration Appeals. Jinyan also worked as a student attorney at Parkdale Community Legal Services, where she provided pro-bono legal services to low-income immigrants on family-reunification applications for refugees, humanitarian and compassionate applications, permanent residence applications, citizenship applications and Pre-Removal Risk Assessments (similar to Cancellation of Removal in the U.S.). Attorney Wang was awarded the Prize in Refugee Law by the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers in 2016.
