Liberty. Justice. All. These are not just words but a credo for Jay Marks, who has been defending the rights of immigrants in Immigration Courts nationwide since 1998. In state and federal courts, he works to vacate convictions, reduce sentences, and vindicate his Clients' rights by forcing the Government to follow the law. In December of 2013, Jay was appointed as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Law, where he teaches a Clinic Seminar on Crimes and Immigration Law. Every Saturday morning, Jay hosts El Cafe del Inmigrante, a call-in, Spanish language radio show on CBS' El Zol, FM, in Washington, DC. Jay is on the Board of Pyramid Atlantic Arts Center in Silver Spring, Maryland, and has served on the boards of several community organizations, including Marcelino Pan y Vino, Inc., Adat Shalom Reconstructionist Congregation, and American University Hillel.
