About
I am a business lawyer specializing in mergers and acquisitions at Tonkon Torp. My experience includes entity formation and structure, corporate finance, commercial law, securities, and contracts. Many of my clients are family-owned and other closely held businesses. They span a variety of industries, including distribution, retail, manufacturing, and services. Having begun my career as a trial lawyer, I have resolved hundreds of business disputes, representing clients in trials, arbitration proceedings, and settlement negotiations. This litigation background gives me a unique perspective when advising my business clients. My clients value my ability to identify practical solutions to complicated problems. I regularly represent pro bono clients from the Oregon Law Center (Southeast Legal Clinic) and the Lewis & Clark Small Business Legal Clinic. I also helped form the Portland chapter of Minds Matter, a national nonprofit dedicated to educating, mentoring, and securing college acceptances for highly motivated high school students with limited financial means. In 2003, I was an extern for The Honorable R. William Riggs, Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court. I am a native Oregonian and a year-round bike commuter. I enjoy spending time with my two young children, going to Duck games, camping, hiking, and being outdoors, and I was married in Yosemite National Park.
