In 1965 I decided to major in accounting at the University of Illinois, because I figured accounting could be a job that someone who was extremely shy, like me, could work at without have to deal too much with people. Since then, thankfully, my people skills have improved somewhat. I have been preparing tax returns since 1969, and oddly, I still think it is fun. In addition, I have also handled thousands of IRS audits and U.S. Tax Court cases over the years, although in recent years the IRS audit rate has declined very sharply from their much higher audit rates in the 70's, 80's, and 90's, so audits are not as common now. I am also very proficient at handling taxpayers who cannot (or will not) pay their delinquent taxes, and have successfullly dealt with several taxpayers who have owed the IRS or California Franchise Tax Board millions of dollars. I also enjoy that very much. I find that my overall fees are usually quite lower than the big firms that advertise on TV or radio about their IRS protection services, and who often try to alarm taxpayers about how scary the IRS can be. Generally I find IRS agents very reasonable and easy to deal with and talk to, especially since 1997, when under the Clinton Administration, the IRS's nastier tactics and collection procedures were curtailed very sharply by Congress. The California Franchise Tax Board can still be a little rougher, but even they can be easy to work with. I also deliver asset protection services. This involves methods to protect your assets so creditors cannot easily lien or levy your bank accounts or other assets. I work out of my home, so give me a call anytime.
