During his time in law school, Jim served as a law clerk focused on medical malpractice defense. Before beginning law school, he received a Bachelor of Science in Business and Philosophy from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. Before joining the Lexington divorce and family lawyers at Stange Law Firm, Jim gained valuable experience as a litigation attorney with the Justice Cabinet, where he managed all state and federal civil cases. Additionally, he served as counsel for the Kentucky State Correctional Committee and the Probation and Parole Nominating Committee, advising on legal strategies related to criminal justice reform and executive oversight. Before that, he worked in Insurance and Financial Services, where he developed a strong understanding of financial complexities that can often arise in family law cases. Additionally, he was teaching at Eastern Kentucky University and practicing Plaintiff’s work in Lexington. Earlier, he served in an Of Counsel position handling all workers’ compensation matters, where he was promoted to Partner. His even earlier experience includes pretrial services, defending clients in Workers’ Compensation and General Liability matters, and Plaintiff Practice. Jim brings over twenty years of tenacious experience in both jury and bench trials to his practice. He personally oversees his cases and maintains effective communication with his clients, ensuring they feel supported throughout the legal process.
