James Albert Hurst is a seasoned attorney at Hurst & Cromie PLLC in Chattanooga, TN, with over a decade of experience specializing in healthcare, real estate, and tax law. His practice encompasses commercial transactions, healthcare transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate development. Throughout his career, Mr. Hurst has played a pivotal role in facilitating some of the largest asset, real estate, and private stock transactions in recent Chattanooga history. He is adept at resolving complex business disputes through both litigation and alternative dispute resolution methods. Mr. Hurst graduated cum laude with his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1993. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1997 and a Master of Healthcare Administration in 1999 from the University of Memphis, where he was honored with the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence and served as a Founding Editor of the Tennessee Journal of Procedure and Practice. A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the first Gulf War. Admitted to practice in Tennessee and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Divisions of Tennessee, Mr. Hurst is an active member of the American, Chattanooga, and Tennessee Bar Associations, as well as the American College of Healthcare Executives.
