About
Heather Harper is a practicing attorney and professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law. In 2012, she designed and launched the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic (ELC) in the Law Offices of Chicago-Kent. In addition to her practice, Heather teaches Entrepreneurship Law and Business Entity Formation. Heather's practice focuses on startup law issues, such as business transactional matters and intellectual property. At the ELC, our goal is to provide high-quality business legal services at an affordable rate. We take an educational approach to the law, which empowers our clients to make sound business decisions. Our services are almost always done on a flat fee basis (agreed upon in advance of starting the work), which means you don’t have to worry about how much it will cost when you pick up the phone to ask a question. ELC is part of the Law Offices of Chicago-Kent, a teaching law firm housed at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. As a teaching law firm, ELC pays particular attention to the client experience. ELC accepts clients on a rolling basis (not just the beginning of a semester) and is able to accommodate legal work on the client’s timeline and budget. Before joining the IIT Chicago-Kent faculty in 2012, Heather was a legal adviser to two local start-ups, worked as a real estate attorney at Paul Hastings, and worked as a finance attorney at Sidley Austin.
