Gillian Egan practices in the area of labor and employment. Ms. Egan has advised clients in developing employment policies and procedures, conducted training seminars for supervisors and other employees, and defended OSHA inspections and other government audits. Once a charge or suit has been filed, she assists employers in all stages of employment litigation. Before earning her law degree, she served as a human resources manager for a foreign-owned manufacturer in North Carolina. She earned the Professional in Human Resources® certification, as well as certifications in ISO 9000:2001, OSHA and HIPAA. Prior to joining Phelps Dunbar, Ms. Egan served as a litigation associate at a Mobile, Alabama firm defending employment-related claims in federal and state courts. She also served as an extern for The Hon. Sarah S. Vance, Chief Judge of the Eastern District of Louisiana. Ms. Egan contributed to publications for the areas of employment law, and conducts seminars and training for businesses and industry groups.
