Eric N. Allen is a distinguished attorney based in Greenfield, Indiana, with a rich legal career that spans over four decades. A proud alumnus of Munster High School (1970), he pursued higher education at Purdue University, earning his degree in 1974. Following his undergraduate studies, Mr. Allen attended the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis, graduating in January 1978. He successfully passed the Indiana Bar exam in October 1977 and was officially admitted to practice law on January 18, 1978. Upon joining the respected firm of Ging Free Brand Tosick & VanWinkle as an associate attorney, Mr. Allen quickly established himself as a vital member of the legal community. In 1980, he ascended to the role of named partner, and the firm rebranded to Free Brand Tosick & Allen. Under his leadership, the firm not only flourished in litigation, focusing on Divorce, Personal Injury, and Criminal law, but also expanded its practice areas to include Real Estate, Commercial Litigation, and Bankruptcy. Mr. Allen played a pivotal role in broadening the firm's reach throughout Central and Eastern Indiana. After the retirement of Stephen Free in 1988, the firm adopted the name Brand & Allen. Following the passing of James L. Brand, it was renamed Allen Wellman Harvey Keyes Cooley, LLP, reflecting its evolution and commitment to excellence. As an active member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the Hancock County Bar Association—where he served as Vice President in 1984 and President in 1985—Mr. Allen is dedicated to professional development and community involvement.
