Mr. Shamis was born in Pensacola, Florida in 1949. He attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Arts and Sciences in 1972. Mr. Shamis graduated from Louisiana State University School of Law, Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1974, and entered private practice in Slidell, Louisiana. Mr. Shamis has extensive experience in civil litigation, consisting almost exclusively of personal injury litigation. Mr. Shamis’ practice consists primarily of automobile negligence litigation, tractor/trailer trucking accidents, medical negligence, premises liability, brain injury, and admiralty and maritime law.
