Douglas A. Amedeo attended Rutgers Law School, where he served on the Rutgers Law Review, was elected to the Order of the Coif and graduated cum laude. After passing the New York bar, he practiced law in New York City as a commercial litigator at Willkie Farr & Gallagher and Greenberg Traurig, over time transitioning his practice to one centered on business bankruptcy and related debtor-creditor litigation. Along the way, he also became a member of the New Jersey bar, practicing law at Porzio, Bromberg and Newman in Morristown, New Jersey prior to returning to New York as co-founder of the law firm, DuffyAmedeo, LLP. A former chair of the Bankruptcy Committee of the New York County Lawyer’s Association, Doug has represented clients in all manner of roles as debtors and creditors, both secured and unsecured, as well as creditor committees, in bankruptcy proceedings and related litigation. In addition, Doug has represented foreign bank interests in American courts and has had extensive experience dealing with issues of fraud, including post-judgment proceedings.
