About
I have been practicing immigration law exclusively since 2006. My practice areas include deportation defense, post-conviction relief for noncitizens, advising criminal defense attorneys on the immigration consequences of pending charges, family-based immigration (i.e. spousal green cards), asylum, and humanitarian applications (such as U visas for victims of certain crimes). I am the author of the Immigration Consequences of Wisconsin Criminal Offenses, which was published by the State Bar of Wisconsin in 2015. In 2022 and 2024, I was named 'Lawyer of the Year' by Best Lawyers in America in the field of immigration in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since 2021 I have been a faculty member at the Immigration Court Trial Advocacy College in Kansas City, Missouri where newer immigration lawyers are trained on deportation defense litigation. I have also been a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Law School since 2015. My favorite aspect of practicing immigration law is witnessing my clients become U.S. citizens. My father went through the naturalization process when he became a U.S. citizen. It is humbling and inspiring to see people from all over the world join as one. When I am not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our daughter, and playing tennis and basketball.
