Daniel Lavian’s practice focuses on planning, structuring, and executing the acquisition, joint venture, financing, leasing, and disposition of the full range of residential and commercial real estate assets, including distressed debt and equity transactions. Daniel represents purchasers and sellers in commercial real estate debt and equity acquisitions and dispositions; borrowers and lenders in financing transactions (including acquisition, construction, bridge, mezzanine, preferred equity), owners and tenants in leasing transactions (retail, office, industrial); equity participants in joint ventures; and developers in ground-up and redevelopment projects involving office, retail, industrial, multifamily, hospitality and mixed-use projects. He has further experience representing borrowers, sponsors, and distressed investors in debt restructuring, recapitalizations, workouts, and real estate special opportunities. Daniel further counsels clients from entrepreneurial startups to large privately held companies through each phase of growth as outside general counsel. He advises on issues of the appropriate form of organization, business plans, stockholder, partnership and operating agreements, commercial transactions, joint venture agreements, tenancies in common, strategic partnerships, and dispute resolution. Daniel helps clients develop forward-looking strategies that meet their short and long-term goals.
