About

Daniel Dean Clark is a distinguished attorney based in Yakima, Washington, currently serving as the President of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) for the fiscal year 2023. With a remarkable track record, he is the first attorney in Washington to have held the position of WSBA Treasurer for two consecutive terms. His contributions to the legal community are notable; from July 2017 to September 2022, he served as the District 4 Governor, making him the longest-serving member on the WSBA Board of Governors. Over his six years of dedicated service to the WSBA, Daniel has actively participated in numerous committees, workgroups, taskforces, councils, and delegations, advocating for the interests of Washington's legal professionals. He takes pride in being only the second full-time government-employed attorney to hold the office of WSBA President, a role he fulfills with great honor. In his professional capacity, Daniel serves as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney within the Corporate Counsel Division of the Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. His primary focus is on providing civil representation to key county officials, including the Assessor, Auditor, Treasurer, and Director of Financial Services. Additionally, he plays a pivotal role as the Corporate Attorney for the Southeast Aging and Long Term Care Council of Governments, an organization he helped establish in 2014, which serves vital needs for elderly residents across multiple counties. Daniel's legal journey began as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Judges James Hutton, Jim Lust, Michael Schwab, and Robert Hackett at the Yakima County Superior Court from 2004 to 2007, where he gained invaluable experience in the legal field. A proud graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law, he earned a full academic scholarship and graduated Cum Laude, receiving multiple CALI awards for academic excellence in various subjects. Since 2005, he has been recognized by the Washington State Supreme Court for providing over 200 hours of pro bono legal assistance, reflecting his commitment to ensuring access to justice for low and moderate-income citizens in Washington. A lifelong resident of Yakima, Daniel is also a passionate supporter of Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball and the Seattle Seahawks, looking forward to the day the NBA returns to Seattle.
