Cy grew up in rural southwestern Kansas. As a teenager Cy worked on farms, mowed grass, shoveled snow, and worked at a grocery store. He moved to Colorado for college, graduating from Fort Lewis College in three years with a bachelor’s degree in International Business. During his time at Fort Lewis, he spent a semester in France and interned at a grain importer in Matamoros, Mexico. After college, Cy went on to earn a Master’s degree in business administration at the University of Montana. Before law school, Cy worked as a bank officer and had a front row seat to the Great Recession. During his time in law school, Cy spent a summer studying NAFTA and Mexican commercial law at the Universidad de Guanajuato in Guanajuato, Mexico, and was a member of the International Law Society. Cy is fluent in Spanish and enjoys Hispanic cultures. After law school, Cy practiced in the areas of family law, bankruptcy, personal injury, debt relief, and general civil litigation at firms in the Phoenix metropolitan area before starting his own law firm. This background allows Cy to give holistic counsel to clients in financial distress. When Cy is away from the office he is generally spending time with his wife, Samantha. Together, they enjoy kayaking, fishing, hunting, reading, and gardening.
