About
CLEM C. TRISCHLER, serves as Chair of the firm’s Product Liability Practice Group. Mr. Trischler has a diverse civil litigation practice with particular emphasis on representing both insured and self-insured manufacturers in product liability litigation. His practice includes the representation of manufacturers of automotive, aviation, farming, recreational and consumer products. Mr. Trischler also has extensive experience in the handling of professional liability matters for accountants, architects, attorneys and other professionals. In addition, Mr. Trischler has developed expertise in the handling of complex insurance matters including errors and omissions claims and director’s and officer’s claims. While attending law school, Mr. Trischler was a member of the Duquesne Law Review. Mr. Trischler has trial experience in numerous state and federal courts throughout the country. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and has served as an invited lecturer to industry groups in product liability matters. He is also listed as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer and Best Lawyer in America. Mr. Trischler has written extensively in the product liability area. For example, his work on spoliation was published by the Pennsylvania Defense Institute. In addition, Mr. Trischler recently published an article addressing the continued viability of the differential diagnosis methodology in light of the Daubert evidentiary standard. Mr. Trischler is responsible for the coordination and the handling nationwide of product liability matters on behalf of several manufacturers, including Smith & Wesson Corp. and Mylan Pharmaceuticals. Through his role with these and other companies, Mr. Trischler has successfully litigated matters in Alaska, California, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Maryland, Florida and many other jurisdictions. Mr. Trischler has extensive experience in counseling clients on the preparation of on-product warnings and safety literature. He has also worked with clients in matters before the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and assisted a number of product manufacturers in the implementation of product recall campaigns. Mr. Trischler also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
