Claire Koehler Forkner is a distinguished estate planning attorney based in Massachusetts, currently serving as a partner at Lee & Rivers LLP. With a strong academic foundation, Ms. Forkner graduated with honors from The Johns Hopkins University in 2006, where she double-majored in English and History of Art. She furthered her legal education at Boston University School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor in 2009. While at law school, she honed her advocacy skills as a director of the J. Newton Esdaile Moot Court Program and gained invaluable experience as a judicial intern in the Circuit Court of Baltimore County. Before joining Lee & Rivers LLP in 2011, Ms. Forkner built a robust practice in family law and estate planning at a mid-sized Massachusetts firm. Her dedication and expertise in the field led to her partnership at Lee & Rivers LLP in January 2020. Recognized as a Massachusetts “Rising Star” from 2013 to 2019, her commitment to excellence in estate planning has not gone unnoticed. An active member of the Boston Bar Association’s Family Law section, Ms. Forkner has co-chaired numerous continuing legal education programs focusing on critical topics such as Family Law Appeals, Alimony and Child Support, and Business Valuations in Family Law. Her contributions to the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Annual Family Law Conferences further underscore her commitment to advancing legal knowledge and practice. In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Forkner is deeply engaged in her community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the John Winthrop School for Young Children and is involved in their Executive and Fundraising Committees. Her passion for mentoring future legal professionals is evident through her volunteer work with the Women’s Bar Foundation’s Family Law Project and her guest lecturing at Boston University School of Law. Admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Maryland, Ms. Forkner is also a member of the prestigious Massachusetts Family and Probate American Inn of Court and the Greater Boston Family Law Inn of Court.
