Christopher R. Hicks is a partner at New Direction Family Law, known for his commitment to being a champion for his clients through daunting and overwhelming times in their lives. Chris’s approach is to treat every client with individualized attention, providing them with the tools and support they need to navigate family law matters with the best possible outcomes. Chris is a native of North Carolina, born and raised in Benson. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he double-majored in Political Science and Communications. He then graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Law and returned to North Carolina to join a law firm in Harnett County. Chris’s early practice encompassed a broad range of legal areas, including family law, criminal defense, civil litigation, competency proceedings, juvenile defense, veteran’s treatment courts, and cases against the Department of Social Services. Upon joining the New Direction Family Law team, Chris has dedicated his practice exclusively to family law where he finds fulfillment in guiding clients through the legal process from the initial consultation to trial. His regular practice includes Wake, Durham, and Johnston Counties. Approach to Clients Chris’s approach to client relationships is centered on empowering and personalized support. He knows that family law issues can be overwhelming and works hard to ensure his clients feel confident throughout their legal journey. His goal is to help them navigate difficult situations in the most positive way possible, providing advocacy and experienced guidance.
