Christopher M. Brooks is the founding attorney of Brooks Estate Law, PC, located in Portland, Oregon, where he focuses exclusively on estate planning and administration. As a devoted husband and father, Chris deeply understands the aspirations and concerns that accompany parenthood. He is committed to crafting personalized and affordable estate plans that provide his clients with the assurance that their families are well cared for. Beyond his legal practice, Chris is passionate about community engagement. He dedicates numerous hours each week to nonprofit organizations, including mentoring a young man at St. Mary’s Home for Boys. His board memberships include the Clark Foundation, Oregon Symphony Association, University Club Foundation, and Oregon Sports Authority. He has also served on the board of the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center Foundation and the Portland Area Theatre Alliance. Before establishing Brooks Estate Law in 2010, Chris honed his expertise as an associate under esteemed estate planner James D. McVittie. He began his legal career in litigation at Michael Wise & Associates, P.C., where he notably drafted the original legal argument that reaffirmed the principle allowing plaintiffs to pursue distinct exclusive legal remedies in the case of Venture Properties Inc. v. Parker. In his leisure time, Chris enjoys skiing, golfing, supporting the Timbers, following college basketball and football, attending theater productions, and exploring a wide range of literature, from popular fiction to philosophy.
