Throughout her career, Ms. Laughlin has represented both private and publicly-held emerging growth companies, providing expert counsel in corporate partnering, strategic alliances, licensing, distribution, and commercialization, both domestically and internationally. Her expertise also encompasses intellectual property protection, corporate law, private and public financings, and mergers and acquisitions, with a particular emphasis on the internet, SaaS offerings, electronic commerce, and computer software and hardware. Before co-founding Ascenda Law Group, Ms. Laughlin served as General Counsel for Exponential Interactive, Inc. and held key legal positions at Blue Coat Systems, Inc., where she advanced from Associate General Counsel to General Counsel. She also gained valuable experience as General Counsel for CommerceNet and Perfect Commerce, Inc. Earlier in her career, she honed her skills at Gunderson Dettmer, focusing on corporate partnering and technology transactions. Ms. Laughlin earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of San Francisco, where she was an active member of the Law Review.
