A former criminal prosecutor, Mr. Hagen brings thousands of cases worth of experience to bear in providing his clients with thorough, rigorous representation. An alumnus of the University of Wisconsin School of Journalism, Mr. Hagen graduated from University of San Francisco School of Law in 2008, where he earned CALI awards in Bankruptcy Law and International Civil Dispute Resolution. Mr. Hagen began his career as a law clerk for the Hon. Howard D. McKibben, a Federal District Court Judge in the District of Nevada. In this capacity, Mr. Hagen wrote advisory memoranda and dispositive court orders concerning a wide variety of civil litigation, including personal injury, insurance law, Medicare administration and intellectual property. After his clerkship, Mr. Hagen was a Deputy District Attorney for Lyon County, Nevada. In that role, Mr. Hagen was responsible for the prosecution of each crime that occurred in and around the city of Fernley, NV. In that unique position of responsibility, Mr. Hagen prosecuted the entire spectrum of crime, from stop sign violations to child rape and first-degree murder. Mr. Hagen has prosecuted several dozen trials, including a two-week first-degree murder trial. In addition to that trial experience, Mr. Hagen appeared in roughly forty other minor court hearings each week in discharging his duties as a criminal prosecutor. Prior to joining the Whittemore Law Firm in July 2013, Mr. Hagen was a Deputy Attorney General in the Litigation Division of the Nevada Attorney General’s Office. In that capacity, Mr. Hagen represented the Nevada Department of Corrections Administrative Office and the Ely State Prison in Civil Rights Litigation and State Torts, including medical claims, personal injury matters and Constitutional Torts. Mr. Hagen is licensed to practice law in Nevada and California.
