Brian S. Katz, founding attorney at Katz Law in Paducah, Kentucky, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his practice in general law, personal injury, and tax. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1966, he graduated with highest distinction from Indiana University in 1988, earning a B.S. in Accounting. Mr. Katz passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting examination prior to his graduation, showcasing his strong financial acumen. He furthered his education at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Virginia Tax Review and earned his J.D. in 1991. Following law school, Mr. Katz clerked for the Honorable Julia S. Gibbons on the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. He subsequently gained invaluable litigation experience at a prominent Memphis law firm and at Ballin, Ballin & Fishman, P.C., a well-regarded criminal defense firm. There, he honed his trial skills through extensive cross-examination and the successful prosecution of high-stakes cases. Since relocating to Paducah in 1996 and establishing his firm in 1998, Mr. Katz has focused on family law and personal injury, particularly representing injured parties in Jones Act and maritime cases. He collaborates with L. Jeff Bloomfield, an esteemed attorney with over 30 years of experience representing injured river workers.
