About
Ashley French is a partner in the firm’s Charleston office. She has trial experience in both state and federal courts involving: transportation and trucking, workers’ compensation discrimination claims, deliberate intent, wage payment and collection cases, trade secret protection, RIFs, restrictive covenants, and personal injury. Ms. French has a particular focus on discrimination claims, sexual harassment claims, claims for wrongful discharge and retaliation, and wage payment claims. She has also focused her practice on trucking accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, blasting, and personal injury claims. She has extensive experience in handling claims brought under the West Virginia Consumer Credit & Protection Act (WVCCPA), claims brought under the Federal Credit Union Act, and class actions. She has also assisted clients in audits conducted by the Department of Labor. Ms. French is admitted to practice in West Virginia state and federal courts, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a recipient of the 2010 Generation Next 40Under 40 award and has been selected for the West Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Star List. She is also a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association, a national organization that focuses on all modes of transportation services. Ms. French is an active member of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia where she has chaired the Employment Law Group and co-founded the Creditor’s Right Committee. She is on the Executive Board for the West Virginia Bar Association and former President of the Kanawha County Bar Association. Although she has served as a board member for many philanthropic organizations, she has focused her attention in the past few years on a local non-profit, Pollen8, for which she is also a board member.
