Special Counsel for Estate Law Anne M. McKinney is Special Counsel to Gale Allison, PLLC bringing her four decades of legal and tax experience in estate planning, probate and estate administration, and estate taxes. Ms. McKinney holds a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, graduating magna cum laude and earned her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of North Carolina School of Law. She is licensed to practice in Tennessee and North Carolina, all the courts in those states, and before the U.S. Tax Court, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. McKinney previously served as an Estate and Gift Tax Attorney with the Internal Revenue Service. As an Adjunct Professor of Law, she taught undergraduate Estate Planning, Wealth Transfer Tax, and Business Law at the University of Tennessee. Ms. McKinney is a partner at McKinney & Tillman, P.C. in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is a member of the Tennessee and North Carolina Bar Associations and the American Bar Association and is a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Trust and Estate Counsels (ACTEC). Ms. McKinney co-authored Estate Planning in Tennessee. She also lectures frequently before professional and civic groups throughout the nation on the subjects of estate planning and taxation.
