About
Andrew Clarkowski is a partner at Axley Brynelson, LLP, practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, intellectual property, information technology and appellate law. He also serves as Counselor to the firm. Mr. Clarkowski was recognized as a top lawyer in the areas of intellectual property and appeals law in Madison Magazine's 2005 "Top Lawyers" survey. Mr. Clarkowski has served as lead and sole counsel on numerous jury trials, court trials and arbitrations. He has also served as local counsel for numerous patent and commercial litigation cases in Wisconsin's Western District Federal Court, including Chief Judge Conley's first patent trial in 2010. Along with Axley Attorney John Schmid, Jr., Mr. Clarkowski prevailed on a Wisconsin Labor and Industry Review Commission (LIRC) and circuit court review of a decision which ultimately resulted in the largest applicant's worker's compensation settlement in Wisconsin. He has won multiple Wisconsin Court of Appeals cases (in fact, he won two Wisconsin Court of Appeals Cases within five days), he has successfully defended appeals to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and he has both obtained and defended against multi-million dollar settlements. Mr. Clarkowski has always enjoyed advancing his experience in the legal profession. While attending law school, he served as the Senior Managing Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review. Mr. Clarkowski also served as law clerk to Chief Justice Roland Day of the Wisconsin Supreme Court during the Court's 1995-1996 term. He was President during the 2010-2011 term for the Western District of Wisconsin Federal Bar Association.
