Alexandra S. Mejia is an accomplished associate attorney at Cumberland & Erly, LLC, located in the heart of Maryland. A proud graduate of Rhodes College, Ms. Mejia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science while actively engaging in various extracurricular activities. She was a valuable member of the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature Team and contributed to her community by tutoring for the Evergreen Afterschool Program. Additionally, her studies abroad at the London School of Economics enriched her understanding of international trade and marketing, providing her with a unique perspective on global legal issues. Ms. Mejia furthered her legal education by obtaining her Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law. During her time at Catholic University, she honed her advocacy skills as a student attorney for the Columbus Community Legal Services Veterans Advocacy and Estate Planning Clinic, demonstrating her commitment to serving those in need. Prior to joining Cumberland & Erly, LLC, Ms. Mejia gained invaluable experience clerking for the Honorable Mark W. Carmean, Associate Judge at the Circuit Court for Calvert County, where she gained insight into the judicial process and further developed her litigation skills. In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Mejia is deeply committed to her community. She volunteers as a mentor for students in the Fund for American Studies (TFAS) program and serves as a court-verified counsel for the court-appointed representation of children in custody and access cases, ensuring that the best interests of vulnerable clients are prioritized. Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Mejia enjoys traveling, immersing herself in literature, and cherishing moments with family and friends. As a passionate supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, she embraces the spirit of teamwork both on and off the field.
