About

Alexander McShiras is a graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He earned his undergraduate degree in International Studies and Hispanic Studies from Boston College, and he has a Masters of Arts Degree in International Relations from Marquette University. While at Boston College, Mr. McShiras studied abroad at the Universidad de San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador. Mr. McShiras is bilingual in English and Spanish. Mr. McShiras has worked as a paralegal for the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project in Florence, AZ, as well as five private immigration law firms in Colorado as a paralegal and then an attorney. He has been licensed to practice law since 2012. Mr. McShiras started his own firm, Pikes Peak Immigration, in 2019. He is the owner and senior attorney. Mr. McShiras is licensed to practice law in Colorado and he is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has worked on matters before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”), the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals (“BIA”), Colorado District Courts, the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. McShiras is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (“AILA”), and he has served on several AILA committees: the Houston Asylum Liaison Committee, the USCIS Liaison Committee, and the New Members Division Committee. Mr. McShiras is a member of the Colorado Bar Association (CBA), the Denver Bar Association, and the Immigration Law Section of the CBA, and he is active in the Young Lawyers Division. He has a passion for representing clients and for solving complex immigration issues. Mr. McShiras lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, also an immigration lawyer whose family immigrated to the United States from India. The couple has two children.
